16^th & 18^th Oct 2008 : The Salwan Schools Athletic Championship 2008-The prestigious CHAMPIONSHIP TROPHY was lifted by our own little Salwanians. The school mascot led the marching contingent who marched in unison keeping the school flag high. The rigorous training received by children was reflected in their energy and vigour displayed in the athletic events.

23rd Sep 2008 : We won the first prize in the Brem Dutt Memorial- an inter school competition at Cambridge Foundation Senior Secondary School on . Lavanya Punyani and Asmi Goel of Nursery A recited and enacted a poem and won the first prize in 3+ category amongst 20 schools of Delhi.

Other Inter-School Competitions : Our children brought laurels in the various Inter-School competitions and made us proud! 

11th-12th Sep 2008 : A story telling competition was held for Nursery  and KG , where children narrated all kinds of stories ranging from fairy tales to mythology and panchatantra to anecdotes, using interesting and colourful props.

27th March 2009 : Celebration of Earth Hour- The Earth Hour is being celebrated all over the world on 28th March 2009 to create awareness about the climate change. Organised by WWF, the people all over the world are advised to turn off their lights for an hour from 8:30 to 9:30 pm. Since the school is closed on 28th march, the g.d. Salwan Public School has decided to turn off the fans of the school from 9:50 am to 11:10 am to create awareness among the students.

27th feb 2009 : GRAND PARENTS DAY-To inculcate Indian Values and instill respect for our elders the tiny tots of the Early Childhood Dept. of the G.D. Salwan Public School celebrated Grandparents Day with great enthusiasm and fervour. The program was appreciated by one and all. The Venue showcased the love and respect for Grandparents through graphical representation done by Nursery and K.G. children.

16th Feb 2009 : Association with TERI: Teri has initiated several activities involving schools to spread the message of environmental protection to create an informed future citizens. Teri has initiated a mega project with selected schools in Bangalore, Chennai, and Delhi. G.D salwan has also been selected for this project which deals with the understanding and analysis of environmental issues like clean technologies, e-waste management, life style change and renewable forms of energy and conservation. An initiation workshop on 16^th February 2009 was also attended by our teachers where Dr. R K Pachauri, Director General, TERI and Ms. Neelam Dhawan, MD, Hewlett Packard were guest of honour.

11th Feb 2009 : Good Luck Ceremony: It was organized on 11^th February 2009 to wish class X success in their coming board exams.  To cheer up and bless the students, candles were lit and students were allocated titles.  The event was also marked by cultural participation from class IX students.  The students who won the title “Master and Miss g.d. Salwan” were also crowned.  It was a warm yet enthusiasm filled evening which will remain in memories of all present there for times to come.

10th-14th  Feb 2009 : 7 Students of our school participated in 48^th Delhi State Gymnastics Championship 2009 held at Govt. Sarvodya Bal Vidyalaya, Block – 4 , Subhash Nagar, Delhi on 10/02/09 to 14/2/09. Master Krish Gangwal of class IV got Bronze Medal – Floor Exercise. 

12th Jan 2009 : Mock parliament:- A mock parliament was created in our school in which students of class VIII and IX performed all parliamentary proceedings in order to discuss and debate issues relating to children i.e. student council, child rights and inflation. This mock parliament was held on 12^th Jan 2009. Guest of Honour: Senior editor (politics) from the Indian Express Ms. Vandita Mishra was present to witness the proceedings of our mock parliament.

23rd Dec 2008 : Annual Athletic Meet: Annual Athletic Meet 2008 was conducted on 23 Dec 2008 Championship Trophy was bagged by ACHAL HOUSE.

20th Dec 2008 : Fun town-An Excursion to 'Fun Town'- an amusement park was organised for class I to IX and for the whole staff on 20th December 08. They also visited the Parle Factory which enriched their knowledge about the various processes involved in making of candies and biscuits.

24th Nov - 2nd Dec 2008 : Puppetry workshop: Puppetry workshop was held for a week from 24^th Nov-2^nd Dec 2008. This workshop was conducted by Ms. Anurupa Roy of Katkatha Puppet Art Trust for students of class VII, VIII, IX. A show was put up by children on 2^nd December covering topics on various issues like right of freedom, child rights, right to vote and peace.

6th-8th Dec 2008 : CBSE Cluster Delhi Athletic Meet was conducted in Indira Gandhi Sports Institute of Physical Education and Sports Sciences Vikas Puri from 6th -8th Dec 2008. Seven students of our school participated and won three bronze medals in sub junior category. 

6th-8th Oct 2008 : Zonal Athletics Meet of Zone 28 was held from 6^th October 2008 – 8^th October 2008 in Ramjas Sports Complex West Patel Nagar, 30 students of our school participated actively and won many medals.

16th  May 2008 : Annual Day ,On 16th May 2008 came the moment, after taking the full circle, which g.d. Salwan Public school eagerly looks forward to, the cultural evening of the school- the Annual Day. As a tradition, at the Air Force Auditorium, the event was marked with music, melody and drama. The Chief Guest of the evening Hon’ble Mr. Lalit Maken, Minister of State, Urban Development, Govt. of India, lit the inaugural lamp and set the program rolling.The highlight of the evening was the play “ Fiddler on the roof ”- a medley of music, dance and drama.

26th Mar- 9th Apr 2008 : g.d. salwan Public School in collaboration with the Reggio Emilia-Institute Italy & Australia, Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts and the Italian 'Embassy Cultural Institute organized the Exhibition "The 100 Languages of Children" based on the philosophy of Loris Malaguzzi, on early childhood education at, the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts, New Delhi.

26th Apr 2008 : Workshop on Environmental Studies was conducted in g.d. salwan Pulic School  wherein the sister Institutions of g.d. Salwan Public School participated. The aim of the workshop was to make the subject (E.V.S.) interesting by making it activity based.  Mr Dhiren and  Mr Doshi were the Resource Person.

Salwan Public School, SJPS, Salwan Public School, Mayur vihar, Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar and Salwan Girls Sr. Sec. School ) on 03/02/09 The topic of interaction was ‘Hardwork and Creativity’

Salwan Junior Public School, Naraina hosted the 2nd Inter School Junior Athletic Meet 2009 for primary classes on 31st Jan 2009 at Army Public School (grounds), Dhaula Kaun . The chief guest ,Dr. Yoganand Shastri, Speaker, Delhi Vidhan Sabha declared the meet open. The Guest of Honour, Shri Ramakant Goswami, MLA, Rajinder Nagar encouraged the participants and congratulated the school for an effort first of its kind at the Junior level. Students from over 30 schools of Delhi participated in all the events with great enthusiasm. The event began with a march past by the army band followed by all the schools. The grand finale was the prize distribution ceremony The Best school’s trophy  was won by Salwan Public School, Rajinder Nagar. The runner’s up trophy went to S.M. Arya Senior Secondary School. The best Athlete (boy) was awarded to Krishna of S.M Arya Senior Secondary School & best Athlete (girl) was given to Mehak of Salwan Public School (Morning), Rajinder Nagar. They were given a cash prize of Rs. One Thousand each. Winners were conferred medals by Hon’ble Chairman (SJPS), Maj. Gen. J. K. 22nd Nov2008 : ANNUAL DAY,Shakespeare’s Macbeth will be staged by the students on the Annual Day celebrations to be held on the 22^nd November at 5 p.m. in the school ground.  Mr. Pavan K. Varma Director General ICCR has kindly consented to be the Chief Guest.

Sep 2008 : A group of 5 students from SPS MV went to Singapore in September under the student exchange programme.  They got a wonderful opportunity to visit different schools there.  They also visited tourist places like- Singapore history Museum, Santosa Underwater museum, zoo etc.  It was both an informative and enjoyable trip for the students.

 5th Sep 2008 : The school celebrated Teachers Day , to commemorate the birthday of Dr. S.Radhakrishan at India International Center Lodhi Road, Swami Shantatlmananda from the Rama Krishna Mission graced the occasion as the chief guest.  Other eminent educationists were also present.  Swami Ji gave an enlightening speech on spiritually urging the gathering to give up self centeredness and live in harmony. Students presented a play to thank their teachers. Staff members of SPSMV and Salwan boys presented melodious songs.

Aug 2008 : Investiture ceremony and Achievers Day was celebrated in the month of August.  The newly elected students council was badged and took a pledge to perform their duties sincerely and maintained decorum in the school.  The achievers of the previous academic session was awarded for their meritorious performance.  Scholar badges were also given to the outstanding students.
