Programmes offered By SALWAN EDUCATION TRUST

1. Life Skills: Thinking Skills, Social Skills, Emotional Skills: (For Students)
World Health Organization has defined life skills as ‘the abilities for adaptive and positive behavior that enable
individuals to deal effectively with the demands and challenges of everyday life’. The purpose of Life Skills education
    is to:

     1. Translate knowledge, attitude, skills and values into action
     2. Develop positive attitude towards oneself and others
     3. Promote the state of mental well-being.

2. Classroom Management
Classroom management provides provisions & procedures necessary to establish & maintain an environment in which
    instruction & learning can occur

Objectives:

  • To gain behavioral, social and academic success in a structured layout.
  • To implement strategies that create a safe, fair and rule based learning environment for students to flourish.

3. Pedagogy Strategies (with special focus on inter-disciplinary approach)

Right kind of pedagogy and strategies in class create an educational process that will lead to knowledge transfer. It is
essentially a combination of knowledge and skills required for effective teaching:

  • Active learning
  • Co-operative and collaborative learning
  • Critical thinking
  • Experiential learning
  • Inquiry guided learning
  • Inter-disciplinary teaching
  • Project Based Learning

4. Study Skills and Learning Strategies
Our Study Skills Workshops are designed to improve the learning skills of our students and help them to achieve their
academic goals. Our sessions provide in-depth information on different topics that delve upon and improve several
crucial aspects of academic strategy and knowledge.

Knowing one's learning style and having an effective study technique can help a student be successful across the
  curriculum.

5. Whole Brain Thinking
Whole Brain thinking for 21st Century requires skills which need to be sharpened. If Classrooms are to be places of
learning then ‘the organ of learning’ the brain must be understood and accommodated.

Students come from diverse, different backgrounds with different value/ cultural systems. It is up to the school to
create the conditions whereby their brain will ‘choose’ or ‘select’ the learning that will best enhance their chances of
   survival.

How best we can use our brain is the technical know how which needs to be explored by all the educators.

6. Multiple Intelligence in Classroom Teaching
Our workshop focuses on instructional strategies that can be used to enhance teaching and learning based on the
Multiple-intelligences Theory. All teachers must be better equipped to widen their pedagogical repertoire to
accommodate linguistically, culturally, and cognitively diverse students. In addition, teachers should know how to cater
optimally to learners with different intelligence profiles and how to create a learning environment in which learners feel
secure and relaxed. It will also help change teachers’ perceptions of their students’ learning abilities. Focus is on “Know
Your Child & Each Child Matters”

7. School Accreditation
Accreditation is defined as an affirmation of Quality on the basis of pre-determined norms in pre-defined areas set
by established committee /board in the field of education.

The Accreditation Workshop provides an opportunity for participants to gain a better understanding of the standards
      and procedures
